Transport Supervisor

Job Profile Summary

The main role and responsibilities is Supervise the overseeing operations and transaction of domestic Transportation, including trucking border locations and local deliveries to customer plants/warehouses or direct clients, will support the negotiating and selecting trucking supplier’s process close with the Manager, providing operative aspects to be considered in the operational procedures. Will be responsible for the operative daily routine and administrative task required from the Manager side including driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, cross docking and customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Supervise the overland logistics operations in the plan assigned by the Manager including customer service, freight loading and unloading, document administration for operative borders control.

Support with data to the Manager for changes and improvement areas to increase productivity of dispatch of overland operations.

Follow-up the transportation suppliers optimizing added value in the delivery process.

Quickly solve the problems in operations issues and communicate properly to the customer operative key contact.

All operative actions, invoicing process, job costing should be aligned with compliance policy without exceptions

Support to complete records and reports in a timely and accurate required by Manager to assure fully the operations metrics and results expected.

Create and foster a relationship with the counterpart operative/Logistics customer's to facilitate operational stability & understand the location-specific customer goals, objectives and KPI´s.

Work closely with the sales responsible for the major contact customer in oirder to advise and keep informed to the performance results

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisory responsibility may be required (Customer Service team, Document Specialist, CCL)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in Transportation, Trucking and Delivery operations process.

Knowledge in the system and track & trace IT solutions.

Orientated to goals achievement.

Analytical skills, written/oral communication and organizational aspects and able to do a presentation of KPI´s.

Ability to manage multiple task in the operative department with a sense of urgency while maintaining informed the Manager.

Problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in the operation of MS Office software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Willingness to travel as necessary, work with action plan view.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience required – Transportation Supervision or trucking services delivery

Proficiency (Spanish/English or Spanish/Portuguese).

Certification in transportation, administration or logistics may be required.

3 years or supervision experience, coordination operative teams for overland, domestic transportation, postlanding, etc. is required.

Proficiency in IT supporting technology, especially web, truck & tracing applications.
