Position Summary:
Manage business development efforts in the different MCAC markets and manage a team of subject matter experts from business inception, through contracting, and up to commencement of construction. This includes financial modelling coordination, project permitting, coordinating site studies and diligence, managing project development budgets and schedule, contract management and ensuring projects successfully reach construction commencement.
Responsibilities
Develop renewable projects (wind and/or solar) either on greenfield or advance stage of development including but not limited contract negotiation, permitting obtention, resource analysis, construction and operations contract negotiation, RFP process, among other activities
Analyze potential M&A transactions and strategic initiatives to support senior leadership in acquisition decisions
Coordinate with finance in gathering detailed inputs for financial models and perform valuation analysis
Draft investment memos, presentations and recommendations for all stages of the deal process
Develop and maintain internal tools and processes for tracking all active, inactive, and closed deal activities
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in developing business case analyses and executing transactions
Support transactions for operational renewable power
Manage due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions in conjunction with internal teams and consultants including critical issue screening, environmental studies, surveys, diligence reports, title review, property tax matters, community relations, etc.
Develop, manage, solicit, evaluate RFP responses from external consultants to develop recommended consultant engagement for site development services
Coordinate internal and external teams to align activities to meet project schedule and milestones
Coordinate with construction management team as needed on securing ministerial permits
Participate in Project Handoffs once fully developed, permitted and issued notice to proceed to construction management team
Participate in project financings answering diligence questions and providing required documents
Coordinate additional resources or outside consultants/contractors as well as managing contracts and agreements throughout project development.
Utilize internal project management software tracking and provide comments and feedback for tool improvement
Requirements & Qualifications
BA/BS degree required with concentration in engineering, business, finance, economics or environmental sciences
Minimum of 5 years of project development or finance/investment banking experience in utility-scale solar, wind and/or energy storage facilities
