
CATEGORY MANAGER ( RETAIL)

Job Summary
Define and execute the commercial strategy for all categories or business units across the regional warehouse network, maximizing assortment profitability, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction through the end-to-end management of portfolios, suppliers, pricing, promotions, and visual merchandising.:
- Industrial Engineering, Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or related fields.
- Preferred: Postgraduate degree or MBA in Sales Management, Retail Management, or Supply Chain.
- 10 years of experience in Category Management, Procurement, or Commercial Management within the retail industry.
- Experience managing large portfolios, margins, and profitability analysis by SKU or category/family.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Preferred: Previous experience in store operations or retail logistics (cross-functional vision).

- Sell-in / Sell-out analysis, inventory turnover, days of supply (coverage), GMROI, and OTB (Open-to-Buy).
- Assortment Strategies (depth vs. breadth/variety).
- Pricing Techniques (elastic, psychological, and competitive pricing).
- Promotional Planning (TPR, bundles, and markdowns).
- Visual Merchandising strategies and planograms.
- Supplier Evaluation and commercial negotiation.
- Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and Advanced Excel.
- Strategic Thinking and Customer-Centricity: Ability to align business goals with the final consumer's needs.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Data-driven decision-making and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex data.
- Supplier Negotiation: Proven expertise in negotiating commercial terms, rebates, and exclusivity agreements.
- Portfolio Management: Strategic oversight of product mix with a focus on unit and category profitability.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments (Marketing, Operations, Logistics, E-commerce, etc.).
- Adaptability and Execution Speed: High agility in fast-paced environments and a focus on rapid implementation.
- Define the optimal assortment by category and sub-category, ensuring alignment with the company’s commercial strategy.
- Develop annual and monthly procurement plans in coordination with Demand Planning and Inventory Management.
- Oversee the execution of promotional activities, dynamic pricing, and commercial campaigns.
- Monitor and adjust Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): sales, margin, turnover, aging stock, and out-of-stock (OOS) levels.
- Manage supplier relationships, including commercial terms, exclusivity agreements, and product launches.
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure flawless execution across both brick-and-mortar stores and e-commerce platforms.
- Evaluate growth opportunities regarding innovation, private labels (house brands), and portfolio differentiation.
- Define pricing and assortment strategies to maintain a competitive market advantage.
- Work Mode: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday.
- Location: La Libertad (requires availability for travel and store visits).
